Nearshore water is scored mostly on wind and wave height, with wave steepness and the tidal current counting too. A current running against the wind is treated as worse than either one alone. Wind, and waves where it reports them, come from NDBC buoy 41033, and tide predictions come from NOAA station 8668498, Fripps Inlet, Hunting Island Bridge, the closest one to here.
